The goal of Nile Care is to promote socio-economic development among its membership in North America and to eradicate poverty in West Nile region of Uganda. This region includes the districts of Adjumani, Moyo, Yumbe, Koboko, Maracha/Terego, Arua and Nebbi.
We believe that economic growth is a prerequisite for poverty reduction and social development. It increases opportunities for people to make choices that lead to long, healthy and creative lives with a decent standard of living, and the freedom and dignity to make decisions for their well-being. The dimensions of socio-economic development such as equity, quality, and freedom and dignity of life are more easily achievable through sustained economic growth, poverty reduction and social development.
It is for these reasons that socio-economic development and poverty reduction are the main focus of Nile Care.
